WHY BECOME A SPONSOR?
Even though primary school is free in Kenya, the family must pay for books, shoes, school uniforms, exams, tables and even building fees. This makes it hard for poor families to prioritise schooling for their children. In NLAI the child gets all school expenses covered.
By sponsoring a child’s education, you are giving the opportunity for a better life. Schooling will allow the children to get a job and the capability to fend for themselves, giving them a chance for equality and opportunities in life regardless of their harsh and poor backgrounds.
FOR ONLY 55 $ A MONTH YOU WILL BE COVERING:
- All school expenses including school uniforms, books, shoes, school bags etc.
- Breakfast and lunch every day. For many children, this is the only food they get.
- Counselling that helps the child cope with traumas and other problems.
- Healthcare with regular check-ups and access to hospital in case of emergencies.
SOW HOPE AND OPPORTUNITIES
Hundreds of sponsors, primarily from Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, the UK and Australia, make it possible for approximately 900 students to go to school. By becoming a sponsor, you can bring hope, knowledge and opportunities into the life of a child in need.
Each year in January we welcome approximately 70 new children to the schools. They all need a sponsor to pay for their education, welfare, healthcare, counselling and nurturing.
A child in our Children's Home
Support a boy or girl living in NLAI Children's Home (incl. accommodation, food & school)
A child in pre-primary/primary school
Sponsor the education of a student attending Pre-primary and Primary School (incl. food, uniforms, books)
A student in secondary school/practical training
Sponsor a student in Junior/Senior Secondary School or in skill-based college.
If you have any preferences concerning gender or class, NLAI will attempt to meet your wishes.The sponsorship continues as long as you wish.

- A picture of the child and the child’s background story to explain why they are supported.
- A new picture once a year of your sponsored child.
