SENIOR SCHOOL AND HIGHER EDUCATION
Young people have the opportunity to attend senior school and pursue higher education with support from NLAI.

SENIOR SCHOOL
NLAI supports all the children from the Children’s Home to study at Senior School. They study at boarding schools and come home during the holidays.
The students from the local area who have achieved good academic results at the NLAI School or other local school also have the opportunity to attend Senior School with support from NLAI. They attend local schools as day students and live at home with their families or guardians.
Due to good sporting results, some of the students have been given the opportunity to be admitted to schools that combine Senior School with sports. Here, NLAI also supports the young people who have the opportunity to follow that path.
From 2026 Senior School is 3 years of study (the previous Form 1-4 is being phased out in 2027). The students must have passed the Junior School exam in grade 9 to continue to Senior School.
We support 87 students who study at local Senior Schools or at boarding schools.
COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY
All the young people from NLAI Children’s Home are offered higher education in order for them to create a foundation for supporting themselves. This can either be in a skill-based college, via university or other education.
Some of the young people from the local area who have been supported by NLAI through Primary, Junior and Senior School also have the opportunity to study in higher education with support from NLAI.
The different educational institutions are distributed throughout Kenya, so in addition to paying for the school, NLAI also supports the young people with everything they need to live near their college. Girls taking their education in Nakuru can live together in a center called “Esther”, which is located on the same grounds as the Girls’ Home and Boys’ Home.
Over the years, we have been able to follow many young people who have graduated with an education.
We support 39 students in colleges and universities.
