WHY BECOME A SPONSOR?
The children that NLAI support with education come from families that have very few opportunities in society. The families live on a minimal income and don’t have the means to send the children to school. Often the family only consists of a single parent due to illness, death or neglect in the family.
Even though primary school is free in Kenya, the family must pay for books, mandatory school uniforms, and even fees to buildings, chairs and tables. This makes it hard for poor families to prioritise schooling for their children. By becoming a sponsor with NLAI, the child gets all school expenses covered.
FOR ONLY 55 $ A MONTH YOU WILL BE COVERING:
- All school expenses including school uniforms, books, shoes, school bags, sports activities and transport etc.
- Breakfast and lunch every day. For many children, this is the only food they get.
- Counselling as an offer for both children and their parents.
- Healthcare with regular check-ups and access to medical care at hospitals.
WHAT YOU SUPPORT WITH A SPONSORSHIP
The sponsorship helps to cover the expenses for NLAI to offer quality education and good care in our schools. In addition to free schooling, this also means daily meals, healthcare and counselling etc., so that the children can thrive in every way. The sponsorship amount is therefore not money that the child or parents receive.
For the children who are supported in other schools, NLAI still follows up on the child’s health and well-being and is responsible for the contact with the school, in addition to covering all school expenses. For children living at the Children’s Home, NLAI is the guardian and thus covers all needs.
NLAI is not financially supported by the Kenyan state, and our work is therefore dependent on sponsorships and donations from private donors, companies and foundations. The sponsorship amount is also covering operations and salaries for employees. NLAI has only a minimal administration in Denmark so that most support benefit the approximately 1,000 children and young people in Kenya who receive free schooling and education.
ALL OF OUR SPONSORS GET
- A picture of the child and the child’s background story to explain why they are supported.
- A new picture once a year of your sponsored child.
- A letter or drawing from your child once a year.
- NLAI’s newsletter twice a year.
- Thank-you letters twice a year, based on what has been paid the past six months.
HOW TO BECOME A SPONSOR
You can sign up as a sponsor and create a monthly subscription at the website, which will automatically be deducted from your credit card every month. See the different sponsorship options below.
You also have the option to pay via bank transfer and register as a sponsor by writing us at newlifeafricainternational@gmail.com. See bank details for different countries under “contact”. Mark your payment with “NLAI + the file number for your sponsored child”.
The sponsorship continues as long as you wish but has no obligation. Please let us know at newlifeafricainternational@gmail.com if you have any changes or for any reason do not want to continue.

If you have any preferences concerning gender or class, NLAI will attempt to meet your wishes.The sponsorship continues as long as you wish.
